Camp Calumet
Boom Chicka Boom!
House of Prayer has a long, strong, enthusiastic history with Camp Calumet, the New England Synod's outdoor ministry in West Ossipee, New Hampshire.
This stained glass window depicts House of Prayer youth at the yearly 5-day confirmation camp, but members and friends are also summer campers in the resident camp or the family and adult campground. Some among us attend workshops, Columbus Day weekends or midweek retreats. Others have been CITs, served on staff or been a summer chaplain for a week. One of our youth created a mini outdoor chapel -- "a little chunk of Calumet -- as his Eagle Scout project.
Calumet is a place where you can catch your breath, have fun, make new friends or enjoy the company of people you already know, create things, explore trails, hang out at the beach, enjoy God's good creation or, during the summer, worship in the huge outdoor chapel.
